Developing countries need to increase their production rather than trade or aid. Trading requires purchasing power which can only be achieved by increasing productivity.

Yes it always better to teach a man how to fish rather than give him fish. As when the aid stops the poor man would be as help less as before.

I believe they need a positive industrial, agricultural, services and skilled labor  growth.

Positive attitude toward exports and international trade strategies should be implemented .

Trade will then follow .

Developing countries need education more than anything. To prevent themselves from being 'robbed' off their natural reserves. Look at Nigeria and the oil trade, it does not benefit the country. Or Congo, the minerals are nomuch of a benefit to the country. Just for example. I wish the raw materials and other natural reserves would benefit the citizens of each and every country when they trade with the world.

Several developing countries rely on foreign aid to finance several of their social protection schemes (such as old age pension, health financing, education etc.). Aid allow those countries to invest in their human capital, which will not only attract future investment but will also allow an increase in consumption (due to improved livelihoods) which in turn will fuel trade in goods and services. Having said that, it is important to bear in mind that developing countries should not be overly dependent on foreign aid on the provision of pension and other social assistance. In conclusion, aid is a component that can help developing countries increasing trade, which is an important factor for economic development.
