Before measuring your progress, you must have set goals, milestones, plans, standards against which you can gauge your achievements or results on the ground. You should set “S.M.A.R.T.” goals: i.e. specific, measurable, achievable, realistic , and time-bound goals. Such evaluation and comparison should be done constantly, and discrepancies between the actual results and pre-set goals and standards should be analyzed, so that insights might be gained on how to move forward from the point where you’ve reached. Tools such as journaling and tick-sheets can be used. Of course, plans are not set in stone, and sometimes need to be modified.
