Analyze the inventory by ABC method “google, it you will get a lot of result about ABC method”. Fix a minimum stock or buffer stock level for each item; let your store keeper keep on track of what is the stock level of each item by daily cycle counting, once the items reaching minimum stock level need to be refilled. When you fix the minimum stock level consider the lead time of each item as well. If your inventory is large just consider the cycle counting of only the item which is issued previous day
