How is the job environment in Middle East for Banking Compliance Roles?

Though I see job postings on other sites for Compliance related roles, but most of them seek candidates with Middle East experience. For a specialized area like banking compliance (KYC, AML), regional experience should not play a major role in hiring candidates with relevant experience. Or does it?

Yes, the job market has become more competetive and tough with strong regulatory environment.

Every employers in middle east country wants the candidate should have experienced either from their own country or region with specific qualifications in their respective fields such as Investment banking, Insurance and Private banking or completed ACAMS (US) and now CISI (UK) has become mandatory.

It is the time to open the books again. All the best.
