As Ahmed says, motivation and encouragement are so important and also I think that the key in many cases is FUN, fun by convention is enjoyable, couple fun with INTERESTING and you are most of the way there. Dr Suess (Cat in the Hat) and Rohl Dahl (the BFG) for fun and interest, respectively are just two examples of "good" reading for young children. In a nutshell you should keep them amused and keep them interested!
Motivation and ecouragement are the answer keys.Activities , practice and fun are important to learn anything.According to Pandura , children learn by a model.
