Pre Existing Diseases are medical conditions prior to the Inception of the Coverage, and their coverage mostly excluded for the individual policies and can be considered for corporate policies.

A pre existing condition or disease is a coverage limitation included in many medical and health insurance policies for which the insured is still receiving treatment will not be covered under the policy.

Pre ExistingDisease at it is in the meaning itself, any illness/diseases contracted before taking/underwriting the policy is not covered, but in some cases it is covered by charging extra premium not in the retail but in the group mediclaim policies .. this option is given only to Big corporates where employee count is more.. therefore Pre-existing is covered in the Individual policy also after some period of claim free years (4-5 yrs).
