What is the difference between GeoEye images and landsat images

The number of channels (bands) for Geoeye is five, i.e 

3-v

1-NIR

1-Pan

and provides spatial resolution of1.65m for VNIR and0.41m for Pancromatic band at Nadir, whereas number of channels for LandSat is8 i.e

3-V

1-NIR

2-SWIR

1-TIR

1-Pan

and provides spatial resolution of30m for (V, NIR,SWIR),60m for TIR and15m for pancromatic band.

GeoEye provides the highest resoltion imagery of0.4 m. Whereas, the Landsat images are low resolutions and are able to provide the images with ground resolution of30m and90m.

GeoEye have the highest resolution of any commercial imaging system. This highest resolution  offer customers unprecedented, precise views for mapping, change detection and image analysis.

Whera as Landsat is used to support a wide range of applications in such areas as global change research, agriculture, forestry, geology, resource management, mapping, hydrology, and oceanography . :)
