If it is something quite straightforward and routine, email, letter are more than adequate. If it is something of high importance or of a more "personal" nature, a telephone call might be enough but for me it would always have to be face to face. You can learn so much from a person's facial expressions and body language, it's surprising the diffence in attitude when people don't have the anonimity of an email or the written word to hide behind!

Verbal is the best,l get to see how the other person is reacting to my statements or comments.The phone is so misleading,some people laugh when they are annoyed.SMS's are the worst and so is Whatsapp.
