Hi,

I will assume you are talking about Hyper-v VMs, to take a backup of a VM you can use Veeam Backup & Replication v7 or Symantec Backup Exec.

Note that in Hyper-v2012 you can use the Hyper-v replication feature which allow you to make a copy of your VMs on different Hyper-v server, you can use these replicated VMs as a backup and as a DR.

Veem backup and replication is good product.

Veeam backup and replication would be best choice for Hyper-V and VMware based VMs. Even it supports mailbox level backup for Exchange server VMs.

Symantec Backup Exec. is the best , but we can use Veeam , Acronix or use some regular ways like Clone VM or Template .
