What is creativity, distinguish between a Creative Writer and Script writer ?

I'll try to answer the second question first. The difference between a creative writer and a script writer is somewhat vast although you cannot be a good script writer without being a reasonably good creative writer.

What does that mean? Well a creative writer is someone that might be good at writing advertising copy, eloquant at writing articles or blog posts or PR press releases. But that does not necissarily mean that that person has a good grasp of script writing. 

Script writing requires an understanding of timing, scene blocking, ability to manipulate emotions as well as come up with creative ways to say something familiar and a new and brilliant way.

There are many different kinds of script writers and not all of them can do what the other is capable of. For example television script writers have to be well aware of story continuety, dialog and timing, this category is similar to movies script writers. Except that in movies you have to create a total unique universe for the movie and maintain it. In television script writing you can build on someone else's idea and just maintain it... but you have to be extremely familiar with the back story.

In advertising script writing you have to create a story, carry it through to an acceptable concolusion and sometimes make it funny but also achieve the goal of advertising the product.

In corporate video script writing things are a little dry because the information that needs to be convayed is far more and accuracy is very important.

To Summerize, not all creative writers are script writers or can be script writers, but almost all script writers have to be creative writers.

There are many different kinds of specialties in script writing and each one might require very different skills from the writer.

Now to answer the dubious question of what is creativity: It is the ability to make someone look at something they are very familar with in a new and astonishing way. It is the ability to make others clearly see your vision, a vision they would never have been able to construct themselves, and make them appreciate or at least be aware of it.

Creativity is what improves are quality of life because it is what makes people able to invent and re-invent things faster, quieter and more economical than their previous incarnations.

Creativity is what makes every day different than the next and breaks the cycle of routine and boring.
