Convincing.  Sometimes you get in a shop without having exact idea of what do you need but a good salesman will do his best to convince you of something that you actually didn't think about now.

You have to be confidence in your speach and talk about it's benefits and how much it will save him money and step by step he will be convinced to buy it.

well

you can sell it in just one case :when the needed product became rare in work shop

means if you are working in internet company like (tedata) and there were no forigen routers in whole company all over the area then you will try to convince the customer to buy the another router which is not forgien

First step is to start a conversation (ice breaking) which could be started as to admire the clothings, style, glasses etc, the second step is need analysis & the third is need creation. At times customers don't even know that they need a specific product or survice until you let them realize, thats where the need is discovered or created.

Secondly to sell any thing first you have to earn the trust of the customer by making him believe that you are suggesting the product or service not just to sale it rather it is beneficial to the customer!!!

Let me give an example. No one likes to buy an anti virus software. But when a customer calls in about the computer running slow the CSR cleans the temporary files , resets the internet explorer ,and adises the customer to buy an anti virus. He says it is an expensive computer that you have but it the computer running slow couldalso mean a virus. Free anti virus programs are not that good. So why not go for our anti virus and we are giving a special discount he might agree.
