What is overheating of a computer.

A computer is overheating is mainly due to CPU(central processing unit ).its very dangerous to computer and its performance. computer may run slow, perhaps hangs all the time.

Its also deal with cup FAN.

Overheating Other electronic components.

Perhaps heat of the room or temperature surrounding the CPU.

They are many software that can sense the overheating of the computer.

Most use package in linux that can sense overhating monitoring (psensor

the temperature of the motherboard and CPU sensors (using lm-sensors).

the temperature of the NVidia GPUs (using XNVCtrl).

the temperature of ATI/AMD GPUs (requires compilation using libatiadlxx, support not enabled in Ubuntu PPAs).

the temperature of the Hard Disk Drives (using hddtemp or libatasmart).

the rotation speed of the fans (using lm-sensors).

the CPU usage (since0.6.2.10 and using Gtop2).

However This is how to install psensor in Linux.

1) sudo apt-get install lm-sensors

2) sudo sensors-detect

3) sensors

Installing in windows or contacting computer manufacture for free monitoring tools, mostly its free application provided by the computer manufacture .

Or

try this www.cpuid.com CPU-Z or HWMONITOR.

How to prevent overheating.

shut down the computer and let it cool down. From then on, you can plan a course of action that involves doing some cleaning if necessary, potentially upgrading your BIOS (check your motherboard's manual or web site for details), or planning some system-cooling upgrades if necessary.

If your computer is clean, your BIOS is up to date, and you're still having temperature problems, crack open your computer and check for damaged fans and heat sinks. Check for cracks, missing pieces, and make sure all the push pins are secure and all the appropriate fans are running. Secure and/or replace any loose or damaged cables. If you find you've got broken fans or a damaged heat-sink, you can buy and install new cooling hardware for relatively cheap, and finding a highly rated, compatible fan or heat-sink on Adjust the computer toward cooler area.

heat sink problem you might heat sink paste on the processor , that provide cooling to processor and avoid to over heat.

Probably the Processor. Check CPU fan whether it's working or not. if it's ok. Replace Heat sink of the processor.

over heating is the problem if there is not working ventilation system installed in computer it may be by heat sink looseness or fan rotation decreased or powersupply fault.

cup cooling fan

 or hard disk

it is because processor heat sink problem so apply heat sink paste on it and then check the results
