It is often not a case of treating them differently as you are mother, fathers, aunt, uncle and at times the only one they can turn to and trust explicitly. Loving each child in your class is not a matter of wanting to it is just because they each find a special place in your heart.
Yes. We should love our students as our own. The students should feel comfortable around you so they will open up to you with whatever they are feeling. As a teacher we are considered as the second parent so we must think of their welfare before our own.
You should love them as your own kids in principle. But but by loving them, you should not forget about your own. it can happen that you get overexerted or that you loose any distance to them. Some distance is needed, to keep the respect and to keep ressources for your own private life. If you lost all distance, Then your kids are not taking any profite of your work. e.g. some teachers are so overstressed because they forget their own, that they fall into depression. I know a lot of teachers left the job because of this. So you need to balance between love on the one hand and natural distance and professionalism on the other hand. this would make it even esier for you children to respekt and love you. Love is great but Distance and self respect is also important.
I do love kids whether I'm teaching them or not. As a teacher we have to love our students just as our own children. It is a feeling which prompts a teacher to make an absolute effort by using his all abilities to make his students learn at a best level.
Without loving your students as your own you can't attain the level of a best teacher.
