GSM is a2G standard that is better used for voice call services and uses TDMA as its radio access technology. CDMA is a3G standard that supports various types of services and provides much higher data rates. In CDMA multiple users use the same frequency at the same time (carrier) and their transmissions are distinguished using codes.

In which Terms You Mean the Difference b/w GSM & CDMA?1.GSM Uses FDMA+TDMA for User Access while CDMA Uses FDMA+CDMA but the Frequency use can be made Universal.2.A Single Carrier in GSM is of200KHz BW & Provides upto8 Time Slots while in CDMA A Single Carrier is of1.25MHz & Provides upto64 Wash Codes or (Channels).3.Frequency Reuse in CDMA is Universal as Short PN name Pilot PN is Used for Sectors Identification.
There are a number of Differences are there You name it & See...

The main differences of CDMA and GSM are,1.CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access)after digitizing data, spreads it out over the entire bandwidth available to it.GSM (Global System for Mobile communication)is a digital mobile telephone system that is widely used around the world .2.In CDMA network, there is one physical channel and a special code for every device in the coverage network. Using this code, the signal of the device is multiplexed, and the same physical channel is used to send the signal. In GSM network, every cell has a corresponding network tower, which serves the mobile phones in that cellular area.International roaming accessible is less in CDMA and more in GSM.3.Handset network service is specific in CDMA ,but in GSM it is SIM specific, User has option to select handset of his choice GSM is the “branded” term referring to a particular use of TDMA (Time-Division Multiple Access) technology. GSM is the dominant technology used around the globe and is available in more than100 countries. 4.GSM and CDMA use different radio frequencies and different hardware in phones, a CDMA carrier can only communicate with CDMA phones, and GSM carriers can only communicate with GSM phones.5.CDMA networks may not cover rural areas as well, and though they may contract with GSM cells for roaming in more rural areas, the charge to the customer can be significantly higher.GSM carriers, however, have roaming contracts with other GSM carriers, allowing wider coverage of more rural areas, generally speaking, often without roaming charges to the customer. You can make the GSM mobile in abroad as local to avoid roaming charge by getting the mobile unlocked with the service of any online vendor like Unlock-Zone.com .

GSM use TDMA + FDMA howeaver CDMA use CDMA as Multible Access TechnologyCDMA is more secure than GSM and costly howeaver GSM more efficint and flixable and allow a lot of choice to upgrade.
