Project management methodologies are the various ways in which projects are initiated, planned, and executed unto completion. Examples of project management methodologies are:

The Critical Path Method (CPM) which associates each task with time duration then determines the resources necessary to carry out the project within that time.

Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) which in contrast to the critical path method in the way that it focuses on resources rather than time constraints.

Methodolgy in Project Management refers to the knowledge bank for what you have to do, to manage your projects from its initial process to its closure. It depicts very clearly each step in the project life cycle so deep that you know exactly which processes to be completed and when and how to be completed. If a methodolgy is well worked upon it makes your project management team well in it.

A Methodology is a body of practices, procedures, methods and phases used by those who are indulged in a discipline. A methodology for a project is about managing the project activities.
