And What are the major substantive and process issues that need to be addressed as part of the Process? Substantive Issues (Having practical importance, value, or effect)
Hi!
Surely, there's just one main reason for me: if you want your company or business to grow and become long term profitable, then you better do so without asking why.
Do not ask why.
Stop.
Cheers!
the most important reasons for undertaking a strategic planning effort is to preserve a way permanante our turnover to increase and conséquant eliminate the deficit .all this to face the éxsistante competition in our economic environment
We need to know where do we want to go and how to get there. That's the core of strategic planning.
It gives the company's staff, especially its decision makers, a clear view of what's ahead of them and what they need to do to fulfill the company's goals. It gives a sense of purpose and hope for a promising future. It also delivers the company's promise towards its clients and stakeholders: a company that is keeping their interests in mind on the long term. A company with a vision.
The substainsive issues that need to be addressed? I think the company should be very aware of its resources: financial and human. This is the foundation of any strategy and a prerequisite to its success. There is no point of strategic planning when you do not have the means to achieve it. It should also be very aware of its stakeholders' aspirations: what should we plan for the next5 years to ensure our stakeholders' expectations will be met?
As far as the process is concerned, we need to decide where to put the discussion on our strategic plan. Who should take part of it, and who should not? How? So here we're talking about stakeholder engagement in the strategic planning proces, which could be very tricky: Should we include heads of departments? senior managers only? all staff? Maybe clients too? What about sponsors? I think you need to involve as many individuals as needed to make the plan representative of the company, yet not too many individuals otherwise the plan may take forever to finish or simply lose focus.
Strategic planning is the long-term planning on the management time horizon. It is about fulfilling future visions and long-term strategic goals that are cruicial to the organization's success and prosperity.
