Good question as I am working on a similar project now.
It is important that the leaders of the organization must mean and support their commitment to the Corporate Social Responsibility and everyone in the organization must be engaged with the CSR.
By linking employees performance assessment to participation in corporate CSR
By involving everybody inside the organization and also all the external community leaders
By setting realistic and achievable initiatives and goals and using performance monitors to evaluate your achievements.
By connecting your CSR to your normal business strategy and using knowledge inside your organization to boost it up.
I have recently organized a brain storming session with the employees of the HR department and it has produced very good results and some very good suggestions.
It is a good question. This is due to fact that mentality of the corporate management/owners is the key to adopt CSR agenda. Therefore, the first things to be done, is to understand the perception and attitudes of the managers and employees readings the issues of the CSR. This will allow you to figure out ‘what should be done’ and ‘how and ‘on which level of the management’. In other words, it is the start point of any mentality shift and good strategy of CSR. Many companies fail to adopt or practice the CSR due to mis-understanding, negative perception or attitudes of the management. So, know perception and attitudes in order to enhance the corporate culture and mentality regarding CSR.
