An MBA redefines you as a management professional capable of taking important decisions in one of the three fields of marketing, finance or HR. You move up one notch from a technical specialist to a management specialist. For eg an engineer will be one amongst many in a manufacturing firm, whereas a manager will have several engineers under him.

Career advancement, Job Entry as far as I could see. But also the course is beneficial to management.

If we go through history then we came to know that traditionally the subjects or field exist were accounting, trading, medicine, surgery, support and etc. After the industrialization the birth of industrial psychologist support the business heads or more precisely engineers to boost up the organizational and employee efficiency  and simultaneously this gave birth of business oriented studies and research and then MBAs came into being for producing the talent who general support the business and its divisions to work on it.

Initially the students with business background are doing MBAs and get into corporate where they are running various divisions but now being in HR we have seen that other than business graduates engineers, doctors, pharmacists and other professional are also doing MBA to know the business inn and outs. Through MBA degree they get exposure to various business and related discipline and sharpening their managerial and decision making skills in order to facilitate their career.

On the same side, I met with hundreds of MBAs who just did MBAs to get a job and universities are producing so called business graduates and they are not a true professionals. There are only few institutes here who after critical evaluation induct the students and process them on the basis of business requirement and produced fine talent and such individual progress on fast track basis. We, being a pharmaceuticals are inducting MBAs into our Marketing, HR, Supply Chain, Finance and Business Development divisions and for few of them it’s a primary degree and for few its secondary degree.
