First you have to have the ability how to think as a child . In other words , you have to know how children see things , perceive things , the angle from which they arrive at any conclusion or result . You'd be surprised how children construe & interpret things . To them it's a matter of black & white , of course in a good positive way that's consistent with their innocent outlook on themselves , others & life in general . Now once you've well established that , then you can embark on the process of teaching them , in a fun & game like manner . You have to start with the basics in the sense that you try your level best to make them able to conceptualize & grasp what it is that you're trying to bring to them . These basics include , but not limited to , the idea or the rule that any correct grammar requires correct words , & , correct phrases , & , how you assign the former to the latter , & , hence , the sought-after correct grammar . After that , it's a smooth sailing , assuming that the basics are adhered to & well built on every step of the way . Then you can work your way up to the top ( Excellent English ) by simply following up & building on what you've already achieved in a gradual & incremental way that has patience & vision well incorporated into it .
