Dear Ghada,

It all depends on how you use it.   But how do you make it work for you?

Know Your Audience

The first thing I always ask a new client is “Who is your customer?”  You have to have a clear understanding of your audience before you can begin to develop any advertising plan.

Consider your product and or service and then write down who would use it.  Include in this their gender, age, income and any other factors needed to define it.

Once we know who we are trying to reach, we will use research to determine which best stations they’re listening to, and when the best time is to run spots.

Keep Your Message Simple

You can purchase either a :60 second or a :30 second commercial   That is not a lot of time, so make sure you keep your message simple.  Don’t waste time trying to be complicated, wordy or cute.  Cut to the chase.  Your commercial should:

  • Sell the benefits of your product or service
  • Show the value of your product or service
  • Ask for the sell with a simple, easy to remember URL or phone number.

Reach and Frequency

The number of people who will hear your message determines reach.  Frequency is how many times they will hear it.  The key is to get your message out to the largest number of your target audience (reach) as often as possible (frequency).

 Make A Plan

And stick with it!   If you want your business to grow, you have to continue to get your name, products and services out in front of your prospects and existing customers.  Simply said, you have to always be advertising.  It is said that you lose up to25% of your customers every year due to relocation, death or to your competition…can you afford to do that?

Here are the reasons why a business owner can still rely on marketing via radio advertisements in his quest to turn his targeted audience into ardent customers:

Variety

Larger Audience

Effect

Imagination

Cost Effective

Time Efficient

Availability

Internet Radio

ConclusionIn.... Tthe era of tablets and smartphones, it is astounding to find the influence of radio is as strong as ever.

Even more surprising is the breath-taking number of loyal listeners still tuning in every day, in the hope of catching a favorite song or coming across an important advertisement.

Therefore, it is clearly understandable that your marketing efforts through the radio is not going to fall.

Regards,
