Is "GIS" the same as "GPS"?

يختلف نظام المعلومات الجغرافي عن نظام تحديد المواقع العالمي تمامأ كون نظام تحديد المواقع ماهو الا نظام لتوفير البيانات لنظام المعلومات الجغرافي لتحليلها وإظهارها واستخراج معلومات مفيدة منها .   

GPS is a global positioning system either geographic information systems are Geomatic tools (modern maps) which we can Enable to build a Geo_data base about any region in the earth, so as to be attributed geographically by projection system used in that region, for GIS applications enormous capacity in collecting or classifying and analyzing in put data to it This is what makes a geographic information systems (GIS) most comprehensiveof the GPS, is a way to introduce dataset to GPS.

يعتبر الــGPS اداة من ادوات الــGIS او يعتبر فرع من فروعه لانه وظيفته الرئيسية تحديد المواقع الجغرافية الذي يتمثل بنقطة او مسار بينما الـGIS اوسع واشمل وله وظائف متعددة ويستخدم في مجلات عديدة مثل النفط والزراعة والمياه وغيره

GPS is ( Global positing system ) is an American system using32 satellites to get your own position it use in a ground field to get GCP ( ground Control Points ) or use to get your location , or using to get the boundaries points in the huge projects GIS ( geographic information system ) is a system or tool depend on Base map and hardware and software this system can used a coordinates in maps and help us to take a decision like , when we have a map and the location of a school and it's capactiy we can decided the best location of new school

of course not same GPS is saved map to show to you what the current environment for you locations XY guide you to specifc location GIS is the builder of the maps you build your own map your own facilities it can manage your data in choosen location GIS is huge field

No is not the same, we can make GPS using GIS

No GIS Is not the same as GPS, GIS used to Model, create and Manage digital maps including base maps and other facilities like streets network, electricity network, communecation lines, railway lines , ....
etc.
GIS represents maps using coordinates system while GPS using coordinates system to navigate locations.

GPS is a device used to capture date for GIS, AND GIS is a science used to manage,visualize and analyze that data 

No it's not the same; GPS is a system of global positioning that gives users equiped by a GPS receiver an accurate position by collecting and processing data from satellite constellation.
GIS is a system of information that helps decision makers by editing, storing, spatial analyzing and representing geographical data into a Map or others forms of layouts.
For exemple : we can use GPS to ghater position data from an airecraft or a car to implement it into a real time GIS for a tracking purpose! PS : GPS is an obsolete term replaced by GNSS (GLOBAL NAVIGATION SATELLITE SYSTEM) that includes in addition to GPS (USA) other satellite constellations like GLONASS (Russia), Galileo (Europe), Beidou or COMPASS (China)....

Geographical Information System (GIS), Global Positioning System (GPS) 

GIS and GPS are not the same thing, but they are related. GPS stands for Global Positioning System,GPS uses these satellites as reference points to calculate positions accurate to meters. These geographic position data are converted to a file that can be used by a GIS, which can map it to show the location of the actual coordinates.

نظم المعلومات الجغرافية هي فرع علمي يحوي على gps و يستخدم ال gps للكشف الموقعي كمحدد تابع لنظم المعلومات الجغرافية إستعمال GPS في الخرائط يعطي مثلا تتبع لسيارة الإسعاف المتوجهة إلى المستشفى و بهذا الغرض يتم التعامل مع شيفرات جيكسترا بيانيا و ربطها مثاليا مع gps , إستنادا إلى الخريطة و بيانات موقع سيارة الإسعاف (بإساتعمال gps ) و بين الأماكن المزدحمة التي تحددها كاشفات الإزدحام بإستعمال ( gps و ملتقطات نسبة الإزدحام ) في الشوارع ,بذلك تحدد شيفرة جيكسترا المسار الأقرب إلى المستشفى.
هذه كانت محض أمثلة واقعية.
