There are two methods to install the software on client machine or group of clients.

  • Assigning SoftwareYou can assign a program distribution to users or computers. If you assign the program to a user, it is installed when the user logs on to the computer. When the user first runs the program, the installation is completed. If you assign the program to a computer, it is installed when the computer starts, and it is available to all users who log on to the computer. When a user first runs the program, the installation is completed.
  • Publishing SoftwareYou can publish a program distribution to users. When the user logs on to the computer, the published program is displayed in the Add or Remove Programs dialog box, and it can be installed from there.

Here is the Microsoft KB article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/816102#method1 which has a complete step by step instructions.

1. Create a distribution point

2. Create a Group Policy Object

3. Assign a package

4. Publish a package

5. Redeploy a package

6. Remove a package

Note: If you need to deploy the mutiple software, you can either use the same policy with different package or it will be good if use separte policy for each software.

1) Place the Msi package in a share folder that can be accessed by everyone in the network.

2) create a group policy for software deployment and link it to appropriate OU

3) Edit the policy go to Computer Configuration -> Policies -> Software Settings -> Software installation. Right click on Software Installation and select New -> Package…

4) Select the msi package

5) Make sure you then select the advanced option and click ok. After a second or two you should get the properties dialog box. From here you need to make the following settings:

Deployment Tab -> Advanced -> tick ‘Ignore language when deploying this package’. May cause problems some times so its good practice (when you are not worried about language issues)

Deployment Tab -> Advanced -> tick ‘Make this32-bit x86 application available to Win64 machines’ when you have separate32-bit and64-bit packages to deploy. Perfect example would be software where only64-bit version of software works on a64-bit operating system.

for multiple software deployment you can either user the same GPO or create another one. i recomend to use separate GPO for each software.
