Cost generators are either man power or material and machine time & consumables.
You need to make sure that all cost generation is within the approved project plans and any deviations are either handled or require approval because of thier impact on projects' costs and/or completion times.
For porjects which are being provisionally costed, alternative approaches need to be evaluated to choose the most cost effective ones to ensure competitivness of the company's offers.
For projects which are being planned, ensure that the project cost as per the plan are within the estimated costs and any deviations must be approved by management and the customer(s).

2-7 deadly waste (over production , over processing , over storage , over transition , defected products or services)
3- Energy saving.
4- Production or manufacturing processes saving.
5- Raw material cost control.
6- Product cost reduction (without affecting the function or the quality).
