During emergency tube leaks ,It is always difficult to replace boiler water wall tubes with in a very short period due to inaccessible locations. Application of Window Patching can solve this issue. But Window Patching cannot be guaranteed as a "Permanent solution" to the problem. This is considered " Temporary Solution " !
The question is not specific where the leaks occured , either in welded joint or from tube surface.
Window patching is a good remedy during emergency repair, but leaks can be prevented with the following methods:
1. Determining service life of boiler tubes for preventive maintenance
2. Random ,none distructive tube thickness determination during schedule shut down.
3.Hydro test after tubes repair.
yes you can patching, it is guranted, if material is safe and also operation.
