As I had a chat in a post about negotiations, I argued with someone who claimed that negotiation, is a summary of directions and definitions learned. I supported the view that theory always helps and gives first steps into a field, but as concern negotiations and procurement, theory is far behind practice. In this fields the personality, the experience and the talent are major advantage to success. I 'd love to hear your side of view.
Negotiation is a talent. And when backed up with the good information about what's to be negotiated plus your personal touch in communiation will certainly get a good result.
its a talent with experience, knowledge & strong communication
negotiation is certainely a talent that can be polished by training and experience.
My dear friend ..In my opinion negotiation is a matter of talent,, which requires in depth knowledge of the item, manucaturing process, raw material cost , currency fluctuation, labors cost , market situation etc.
Negotiation is a skill which is polished only by practicing in real. Certain standard or manual enhances and can be helpful as a tool.
Negotiation is an Art. As one CANNOT learn painting or poetry etc etc from books, Negotiation cannot be learnt and practised through manuals, However, as is the case with every discipline, manuals and rules refine the final product.
Negotiation is definitely about talent. That is using the knowledge you have to get to the best possible position. I truly believe 90% of good negotiation is in the preparation. The final 10% is using the research to come to a position you are happy with.
its a talent process, time taking and just don't accept other parties opinion even though you can accept their point... they should feel like they negotiated well.
IN SINGLE SENTENSE ....JUST LEAVING IT FOR THE TIME BEING
it is talent , but, it is not a summary of directions and definations at all , sometimes it works good, other not.
yes, it's a mix of knowledge&experience
