Garlic has been under many studies to show its anti-microbal effect against many infections, from the flu to diphteria.
Some clinical trials have been done to prove the anti-bacterial effect of garlic extract on H.Pylori bacteria, that when combined with Omeprazole (a PPI, an agent used in conventional pylori therapy reducing gastric acid secretion) it shown promising results.
Some homeopathy specialists would like to believe it even might be a good agent against some drug-resistant strains.
But chronic pylori infection is a serious condition that can lead to stomach cancer, so until its FDA approved, it shouldn't be used as a substitute for the drug combination used.
