What are the qualities that are considered unprofessional in a manager or leader ?
To a great extent I was able to influence people in my sphere of work. At times I was not able to influence others and that made me look into this important phenomenon to understand the factors that contributed to my failed attempts and goaded me to initiate corrective measures.
If the integrity of a manager is questionable and behaves in an unethical manner, then it is one of the first and foremost unprofessional trait. Similarly if he or she is biased and partial to his team members the manager in question is definitely unprofessional. If he or she is not punctual and shows favouritism and takes sides in a conflict is also unprofessional. If the manager is simply unapproachable and terrorizes his team memners is also unprofessional . the list could go on and on. However I would like to high light what are the characteristics of an effective manager rather than dwelling upon what traits are considered inappropriate or unprofessional!
The ability to form mutually respectful relationships with others and to succeed in getting your ideas heard is a vital element of being a good manager. Having influence enables you to gain support and commitment for your proposals and therefore increase your potential for success. Influencing people will help you build your communication skills, improve your ability to engage the interest and cooperation of others.
Effective influencers are convincing and trustworthy and both these traits require self- management. In order to persuade others to accept your point of view, it is necessary to present a clear case that matches their needs. To be able to influence, let your enthusiasm for your ideas show without letting it blind you to other people’s views. To be able to win minds. You must research your subject and present a good case.
Good managers work with others to create agreements, build relationships and achieve results

If I will enumerate all the not so desirable quality of a manager probably all the managers who will read my answer will definitely raise an eye brow... I don't like a manager who is not a LEADER, when I say Leader it comprises everything. UNDESIRABLE TRAIT OF A MANAGER IS NOT BEING A "LEADER".
A positive characteristic of a manager (quality) is for instance to always motivate his employees to achieve more accomplishments. But, when he doesn't know when it's enough and he is never happy with the results to the point of employee's exhaustion and frustration then the quality becomes a negative attitude and characteristic. He should know the human limits and to have to ability to change according the circumstances.
Unethical Behavior
Acting outside the business and professional codes of conduct
Abusing organizational policies and procedures
Mismanagement of employees
Incompetence of the manager/leader's ownself to perform while expecting results from his subordinates... A Leader must lead by example.
1) Power tripper
2) It has a "me and only me " attitude.
3) He will finger point his team when not deliver expectations of the company
4) Not "walking the talk"
5) Has the attitude of talking at the back of his team
mixing personal or pleasure with business ....
1. Thinking that his subordinates are his slaves
2.Underestimating others
3.Ego
4.He should lead the team instud of commanding them
Not Making Time for Your Team
Being Too Friendly
Failing to Define Goals
Lack of Feedback
Misunderstanding Motivation
Hurrying Recruitment
Not "Walking the Walk"
Not Delegating
Misunderstanding Your Role
Saying YES always
