Approach it depend on depend what he want and in which manner. To know the viability of point we have to understand that is other person taking interests if yes then we are at right track

To know he is interested

1.       If he is asking cross question

2.       His body language

3.       His cross checking yours data

4.       His asking to leave the discussion paper at his desk

5.       Etc
