I have variety of skills gained with hard work that entitle me to apply IT in different forms. I also had completed few project management documents In addition to my experience in web developing, animation and networking recently added. I am diploma and degree holder and have more than5 experience in the filed. I'd like to move to manager position.
A manager, either from IT or any other subject, must have a fundamental characteristic: he/she must be able at all times to translate technical requirements in contribution for the business and vice-versa.
As good as your technical skills may be, if you do not think "business" than your managerial potential is not being fully exploited.
I think "Manager" is not just a name , in fact its a potential that a person has. u wont be a good Project manager with licenses .
1st of all you have to earn enough knowledge about the projects that you are workin on and you may will work on.
2nd , you have to undrestand your employer and clients concentration.
Tp proceed to a management position you need learn management first. Management is a sience in it own right. Once your learn the theoritical background, you then start taking management tasks and build you own expertiese to become a great manager. Good Luck.
1- Soft Skills (mainly influence)
2- Hard Skills (thrugh training and practice).
As a first step obtain a Project Management Certification such as PMI PMP, Prince2
Management skills and team leading skills and sure a knowledge and experience in the administration in so many department of it and the basics of the rest
I agree with Mr. Roham Rousta in his answer especially in
"I think Manager is not just a name , in fact its a potential that a person has. u wont be a good Project manager with licenses".
Sure you need to take some Management training but after that it is a matter of potential!
I hope you good luck.
