What are the specific safety standards implemented in Middle East?

I am interested in knowing about Standards and legislation regarding Health, Safety and Environment in Middle East.

NIBOSH is regarded as a very important certification in this regards.

Besides it, OSHA18001, ISO9001 &14001 is also be considered parallel

There are many. But most comonly from UK and USA.

These include but not limited to

ISOs

OSHA, UK

BS8800:2004, UK

EPA, USA

RoSPA, UK

HSE, UK

ILO

then Management system like ILO-OSH2001, OHSAS18001, ANSI Z.10 and Responsible Care14001

For Environment, each country has develop there own laws however the main theme they got from above standards

The specific Safety standards in Middle East were adapted from OSHA, NEBOSH and IOSH, in addition particularly here in Qatar, QSC 2010 / 2014 are the commonly standards.

The following management system certification standards are followed and implemented in Middle East. External Audits are based on the following standards.

ISO 14001:2015- Environmental management system standard 

OHSAS 18001:2007 –Occupational Health and Safety Management system standard.

 

In addition to its OHSA 29-CFR part-1 & part-2 is referenced by safety professionals for better implementations at different organizations.

Some countries have their code of safety practices (Abu Dhabi code of construction safety practices). NFPA is used for fire safety/ design of fire equipment. SASO standards are refereed in KSA for legal safety compliance.

In 1981, the ILO adopted the Occupational Safety and health convention (C155) & Occupational Safety and Health Recommendations (R164). that was the basis of safety standards in the world. Later, NIBOSH is regarded as a very important certification in this regard. Besides it, OSHA18001, ISO9001 &14001 is also be considered parallel.

I would like to add NFPA Standards too, as it has to refer for Life Safety and in Fire Protection.

Middle East safety standards are based mostly from UK and US standards. UK and US are the early countries that extracted oil from the middle east hence their standards were followed during that time and used as reference my ME countries nowadays.
