Hi Doris,

LDP stands for Leadership Development Program in training and development activities in an organization.

LDP is a custom designed program that is delivered as part of the organization's initiative to groom its leaders on the skills that the organization has identified as vital for its functioning. Usually the analysis tools used to arrive at the right ingredients of the LDP are competency mapping (core, behavioural and functional), organization’s vision and360 degree feedback. there are other tools as well but these are popular.

The program is designed to enhance the competencies required of leaders in the organization. it is usually spread over several months and delivered through various modes of training such as situational leadership exercises, case studies, seminars and lectures, job rotations, shirt term assignments or projects, self-managed work groups and psychometric analysis tools.

LDP can be used to groom both existing and future leaders within the organization. LDP includes functional and attitudinal skill development.

LDP is best when it is custom designed rather than an off-the-shelf solution.

Let me know if this was useful.

Regards,

Naveen
