In the broad sense of the word: What is education? Is it what we learn at schools, colleges and universities or is it what we become?
The impact of Education mainly results in personal motivation, subject knowledge and confidence in life. It takes place in2 stages in my opinion.
1. The1st stage is impact at a personal level and is rarely sustained.
2. While at the2nd stage there are changes in pedagogy, management and leadership that are sustained over a longer period of time.
Education is basically a key driver for personal and professional development. A professional's true worth is the sum of his accumilated wsidom from education/experiences/actions, path and achievements. Surely education is vital and its importance cannot be undermined, However what remains to be seen for evaluation is an individual's mode of professional develoment in initiating and sustaining change in practice.
Education is not something that is just imparted in schools and universities but it is also an important pillar of strength to an idividual to go out meet the world, face challenges and stand on their own feet since the values and knowledge that one has gained through years of education are put to test in the competitive world . A person who can effeciently put to use his/her knowledge in building their career and the vaulues that has been lerant through experience and teaching helps in shaping them to be a good human being helps one to be an overall balanced person.
Education to me is everything that I am able of observing and/or absorbing, whether it makes sense or not. If it does, then it has value. If it doesn’t, then it still has value by triggering my curiosity & passion for research & analysis.
A favorite quote in this sense is: “I've never let my school interfere with my education”, by Mark Twain.
A bit limited as l see it,Education starts when we socialize while at home, stli young and unsuspecting. It goes all the way into school life and past that into our adult lives.Everything of importance that goes into the permanent memory thus becomes knowledge and we can impart it to others.I feel that it should be knowledge rather than education that remains when all has been forgotten.
Education is not only what we learnt at schools, college and universities, it is what we believe in and what we teach to others and what we do in our everyday life.
LOVELY QUESTION AND VERY DEEP MR. DAWOOD
If education is always to be conceived along the same antiquated lines of a mere transmission of knowledge, there is little to be hoped from it in the bettering of man's future. For what is the use of transmitting knowledge if the individual's total development lags behind?
Life in itself is the greatest college and university we have to attend. May you all graduate well and earn some honors.
The brilliant scientist, in my humble opinion, said that if pure knowledge that every school gives, will not be combined with good personality, manners, morals, behaviour then isn't really worth it. It's like a blank check. If life hasn't taught you anything and you are looking only for yourself and you don't care for other people then all the knowledge in the world is nothing. You will be a rich but shallow person, if someone takes over your power then you will not have anything. You will not have created any bonds with anyone so your life will have no meaning. Furthermore, people with great knowledge but with no sympathy for others and no humanitarian feelings, made major crimes through History.
On the other hand, if Knowledge is combined with a good personality then, we really have the best result. Hence, knowledge can be used for good causes.
Not only in school in any part of life education will remain with a person througout the life. A person can become rich and then poor again or richer again so money dont stay. Knowledge stays forever it cant be destroyed , it grows day by day.
Our education is what we are now and will be not only what was taught to us by our parents - teachers.
Education is a fundamental need of a human being with a purpose in life. Acquiring education is “one” of the ways to fulfill our thirst for knowledge.
Our values and beliefs we hold which is deeply rooted in us is our thirst for education and knowledge.
