I believe that a teacher should be very particular about spellings while checking the work of students, specially at school level. Checking means correction. If a teacher is not correcting the mistakes then to me he is not doing his duty properly.
Children usually have a great faith on their teacher. If no correction is made then they will right to deem it absolutely correct. It leads them to wrong information.
Spelling errors must always be corrected. Students find themselves in more challenging situations because of due to their spelling particularly in their later years. However, tackling how to improve a students' spelling differs entirely. If you have students focus on not making any spelling errors you stunt their imaginative and artist growth and scare them from trying anything new for fear of making mistakes.
A suggestion would be to make an extra activity which deals in a collection of all the spelling mistakes made and creating a game with it. Online or offline the focus would be an extra practice in spelling while keeping the activity upbeat.
Yes I do, at list to create challenge between them.
I respect the previous answers and agree with them
I am very particular! The foundations of a good education are based on getting the fundamentals right, to my mind being able to spell correctly is one of those fundamentals. If you allow "lax" spelling to creep into a youngster's work, where do you draw the line, ignore punctuation? I will however make allowance, in some cases, if a particularly good piece of work has spelling mistakes in it as content probably has the edge if you were to give "degrees" of importance!
spelling errors must be corrected which help the childrens to know their mistakes and repair them this activity make them not to replay it again
Of course I'm also
kind of
I don't teach children, but I sometimes explain some points to my own kids.Work is oral with the youngest one.The others are older and I'm careful about mistakes when I check homework but sometimes I count ,sometimes not to motivate them. The oral work is wonderful with the youngest work. The more we sing and simulate, the more she realizes the new vocabulary or sentences. When I wanted her to realise meat , i pretended that I was going to eat her arm.whenever I act by mouse , she says"meat".
