perfromance management is the way you manage the performances, it could be for the individuals, departments and organization using other tools of evaluating the current status of them like the KPI, Balanced Scorecards, etc. it also have strategies in how to brings the performance up as much as possible. but appraisal mainly focuses on the individuals and give us their current status of the performance.
