If you have two candidates almost same qualification applying for SW company , Which one do you choose?

The difference is1 -First one has3 month of practical experience in1 project.2- Has a certification for the tool required for this job.

The first one, guy with experience, I wouldn't have to spend my time training the person on ground scenarios, plus the tool can be picked up with a little bit of assistance.

I could'nt agree more with Mr.Raafat Sallam's answer.

Hiring is never about getting most experienced and highly educated person because we dont hire GODS we hire humans.

 

If both of them satisfy basic criteria then ijob should be given to the candidate who has better need for this job. Need is the key element that will infuse energy into him to perform better at job for recognition and monetary benefits thus contributing towards project success.

Depends upon the JD and existing team, 

 

if have team of experienced staff than prefer for person with certification. otherwise go for experience.

While it breaks down to the position:

SW Sales: I would go with pratical experience candidate and provide for him a trainng at training center for tools needed (that50% would be deducted from his salary over the course of3 months) with his package offer

SW Programmer: I would go with the certifcation candidate, as there is a limit one can learn in3 month pratical experience without certifcation.

3 months of experience is not enough to select someone, instead of a person having complete knowledge of the tool.

If their qualifications are the same, so an exam have to be made to evaluate.

The higher result will get the job.

I think you will have to determine what you want someone with experience in projects in specific or someone who knows mainly the tool. It depends on your needs. It depends on the training also you will provide. The second one, it will be easier for him to learn PM methodology and the second also will learn the tool fast for sure, if he is asked to be trained..

I’ll go with certification guy because day after tomorrow he will also get experience .

Major Concern :  He covered & learned entire syllabus  regarding required tool .
