In simple words marketing is acquring new customers along if retaining exisitng ones profitablity.
Considering technological advancement, marketing could be split in two major catagory based on nature of channel:1) traditional - newspaper, radio, bilboards, etc.2) online - social media, google adverts, SEO and affiliated marketing. As nature both of them some pros and cons. However, online marketing gives marketers advantage of measuring, which is hard to do with traditional channels.
Brand marketing is the most difficult out of all. due to time constrant. Best example i could give is of Apple inc. after Steve job rejoins the firm, the company focused on redeveloping brand image. it takes time to communicate and develop accurate brand image.
