Uncertainty is in every profession.  Our life itself is uncertain so why not our profession?.  If you analyze your profession you will understand that most of the things are known or there are ways, means and procedures to know them to great extent.  So as a professional you will address the known things and prepare for an action plan for the uncertain things should it happen.

There is a solution for uncertainity in our jobs.  This is to prepare ourself at all times for a change and having plan B and other plans of action to handle uncertian things that may bother you.

For example you may join social net work and be on live discussions about your job and what you do.  You may also upload your CV to as many job portals you may know and keep them uptodate as a matter of habbit whenever you get a free time or make it a point to do revisions every 3 months atleast.  This action will make recruiters call you from time to time offering you jobs and opportunities, which you can accept or reject based on what you want to do.

yes, i have more than20years of pharma sales & marketing experience. my view point about this uncertainty issue in job is that sales profession is no doubt best paid job but it is equally the most uncertain profession. its like walking on the tight rope all the month, targets, planning, customers, product knowledge, time to time hard talks from upline management, prices, competitve actions, lots of reports, meetings, & at the end of day threat of job. if you are achieving corporate objectives, you are the best man of company & if you are not matching with your targets,, you are the laziest person on earth,, you can,t availe leaves, etc ,,,always walking and if you stop due to any good reason ,,you will be replaced by another young sales man.
