I think Honesty is a basic key of success, if some one is honest with work, he/she can completely justified with their duties.
I would say it would be determination, self-confidence, and a bit of luck. Always be open minded, ready to learn and to share knowledge. There are surely a lot of others qualities one should have in order to be sucessful, it is just a matter of extracting the best virtues in you.
Keep learning and help others to learn. Gain knowledge and spread knowledge to win together.

According to me a proper communication with free of easeness to talk freely with sub-ordinates and superiors and better understanding result in long term success in any organization. All other comes next. Ofcouse the relevent study and information about the related field should be there.
