NFPA Standard75

The NFPA Standard for the Protection of Information Technology Equipment2 is a comprehensive document, the purpose of which is to define the minimum requirements for protecting equipment, and the areas where that equipment is installed, from fire as well as associated threats such as heat, smoke and water.

I have been to very big data center and very small one there is one thing i always have seen in Data Center for Fire that is The Inert Gas Fire Suppression System .

No matter how big or small a data center is its all about how important the data is for you and organization .

Thanks

It actually depends on how small your data center is. If its for eg.50-100sq ft then pyrogen should be sufficient. Otheerwise go for proper solutions like fm200 or novec. The fire zone panel eg sigmatx or ctech or honeywell is neede in all cases.
