Sure, analyzing information mean examining it and find how far you could use it. if you fail to assess those information accurately through analyzing process, that mean you would make a wrong conclusions.

I think the ability to analyse data from the trends in an excel sheet like sales trend, cost trend etc is a strength and a KRA for a manager. A manager is fed with data trends from which he has to make the correct decision for the co. If the co is making a loss or the profit figure is getting depleated a manager should be able to pin pont the cause from the data trend.
Analysing the data provided by the Management information service MIS is a major KRA for the manager.
