Plants produce their own food while animals get their nutrition from other organisms.
Plants are called producers. this is because they produce thier own food. they do this by using light energy from the sun, carbon dioxide from the air and water from the soil to produce food in the form of glucose (sugar) the process is called photosynthesis. animals are called consumers. this is because they cannot produce thier own food, so they need to consume plants and animals. in this short term, this are the food chain process.
Plants are called as producers as they produce their own food through the process of photosynthesis while as animals cannot produce their own food and depend on plants for their food, so they are called as consumers
Why are Plants called producers and Animals called Consumers?
because animals cannot produce their own food they consume their food from different resources thats why they are called consumers
while plants produce their own food using carbondioxide light and water so they are called producer
