Leaders are as good as their team yet Leaders can bring the best out of ordinary person, he knows how to motivate and extract the best. If team is excellent and everybody know what they are suppose to do then the job of the leader becomes so much easy whereas when followers are constant looking up to their leaders to guide them and nurture them then leader's job becomes so important.
There is a saying, "There is no such thing as a bad soldier, only a bad leader" which obviously means that a good leader will result in a good team thereby proving his good leadership. When saying that quote people often become deffensive about it and say what if the employees are unskilled, well a good team leader has to cut those people off and if he didn't, well it will affect his leadership.
Yes, I am very much agreeing to this statement with a correction, instead of others i like to use it as team members.The success of a leader depends on how well his team is performing rather than his individual performance.Ofcouse a leader should lead from front still his primary concern should be his teams performance and facilitating towards that.
Eg:Sachin tendulkar is one amoung the best player in cricket history but not a great captian, Where as MS Dhoni is a average or above average player but a very good captian
to the fullest extent, I shall agree; for if a team fails, a leader have failed as well. For what is a leader if there's no team/group to lead. If the leader could make everyone in a group understand and embodied the meaning of TEAM, which is "Together-Everyone-Acheived-More". Then nevertheless he/she is a sucessful leader.

I agree with it to some extent. As leader I will be bearing some sense of responsibility, sufficient enough to state the opposite: “the success of others depends on my leadership, too".
We hold each other in balance & in place till the next leader proliferate him/herself to assume the front position, in the “relay race”.
As a leader onegets the opportunity to utilise power from various sources:- Personal power relates to the charisma of the person to lead a team. Now as a leader you enjoy position power which is of no use if you simply exercise this position without any knowledgeor technical knowhow. You need to have these in order to be effective. Now resource power of the team is not less important. Basically however I would say there are three types of employees, one which you can easily mould like a piece of plasticine , another one is like a block of wood which with appropriate skills and apparatuses and efforts you can have what you wish. Another type is a donkey which you have to admit cannot be converted into a horse.
Always a part of your sucess as a leader, will be depend on other because a leader means an authorized person who will lead a Grop or Team.& without the support of team and group no one become a sucess full leader.
