Merchandising the same 'style' of garment from different countries (simultaneously) is not a good idea. Do you agree or disagree, state why?

bad idea.

that will discredit the merchandise itself, and propably kill the sale of that item, you are creating a quality competition on this item where the customer will doubt the merchandise itself and loose interest in buying it.

EVERY MARKET HAS GOT DIFFERENT  CLIENTELE, WE CANNOT SEND SAME MERCHANDISE IN ALL COUNTRIES.

It depends upon the conditions of the market.

One good thing about this your company is not depended on one country or source so can negotiate in best manner.

For me i always prefer made in my country products even if they are slightly lower in quality. so its not going to be country speicfic store.  but too much of this can create redundancy and overstock.

so in my opinion it ll be great for diverse metropolitan cities like  sharjah, dubai, london ......

I agree and disagree at the same time

Depends upon the market /location

If it is a haute couture market the results can be very good response

I have seen consumers in European & UK markets prefer to buy from places where there is more variety of same prduct from diffreent countries.

but if the market is that of the Middle eastern or Asian nature, then yes,We prefer to buy from places where we find less confusion and high diffrentiation, therefore introducing same style from diff countries in bits and starts would be a better idea

It totally depends on the brand, a current example for a consumer product would be that of old spice,

Where in they used the same concept and even the approach for the Ads in india, which was very much in line with the western countries.

Where as for clothes, fashion is a statement, If the brand is known for its perticular style of garments then it needs to maintain it through out, cause thats whats the consumer is expecting from them, be in a rural area or urban

If it is one of the "Best sellers" recommend to have it but launch it with different colours. Bringing it back with same colour is a very bad idea. customers will be bored of seeing it over and over again. We will need to have fresh look on sales floor, that will make customers refreshed every time they enter your sales floor.

In my opinion, the answer is a YES and a NO. If your brand is strong enough and the product is good enough, then you can export the very same concept BUT always taking into account the differences that may exist, for instance, different body shapes for sizes in clothes, or driving left or right hand side in cars....

amerchandising with the same style is totaly not good idea as we have to know imprtant factor which called " culture " as the cultures are different from country and country and even city to city
