dears ..

random location can give you the flexibility to store your  items effeciantly , provided you have a clear methao or procedure for storing your items .

such method will enable your staff to allocate the materials easily and to trace the quantities recieved in you store.

it does not matter whether you have a WMS or you are using manual system.

Dears,

I think it depended on your system which you use if you are using manual system then random location will not effect and if you are using  WMS random location will be a best choice

Fixed Bin system - Fixed location for fixed parts ,

In fixed bin system even the item quantity is zero you cant you the space for other items.

you need to create seperate location for all part no.

Binning the intrim shipments is very complicated in fixed bin system

Every time you have assign new location for new parts.

Every time you have to erase to location data for obsolete parts.

You can avoid all the above issues in random location storage. its also save cost and sapce

Random location is a good choice if we have not a wide space; but we have to use CMMS software to facilitated issuing process plus grouping the items with the same nature is a must
