Management by objectives (MBO), also known as management by results (MBR), is a process of defining objectives within an organization so that management and employees agree to the objectives and understand what they need to do in the organization in order to achieve them. The term "management by objectives" was first popularized by Peter Drucker in his1954 book The Practice of Management. Participative Management : Type of management in which employees at all levels are encouraged to contribute ideas towards identifying and setting organizational-goals, problem solving, and other decisions that may directly affect them. Also called consultative management.
MBO on my end works well because most of my staff will always do their best and excert EXTRA effort to achieve more specially for MBOs achieved which commensurate to monetary value or rewards. I mean it acts as like a motivation and encourage to exceed the set expectations.
I like participative management. Let everybody say and participate.
It should be a blend. The process started by participation management and concluded by MBO.
a Trade-off between the two, let the employee particpate, then filter the best and set the objective
as a leader I prefer participative management style because it allows sharing vision and values and create openness atmosphere and increasing communication and learning curve

Management by objectives are clearly defined within the organisation for role players to understand their responsibilities to achieve the set objectives. It's always better to walk the talk with employees to make sure that they clearly understand what is required from them.
i will accept and i will ask him to improve my ability to reach our target and I have to think out of the box
