Let's say for an example i have an activity that is critical and it is delayed - it shows in a different computer (after exporting and importing the program) that it has a total float of +VE10 days which is not right. HOW CAN I FIX THIS?
mainly when you export the xer file, it should be a full package. the main issue that most of planners are facing is the out of sequence activities (logic). the out of sequence activities should be checked and rectified on every run
The best way is apply the must finish by constraint and the float gets automatically adjusted.
If not check the calendars.
Just export your calender and your view and inport them in the other computer. then run schedule and u'll find them as they should be.
Note : oracle Primavera is not like Database Primavera , no way they could be the same
Yes the major issue can be calander or if you are importing with the option of update exisiting than may be there is some logical issue.
Calendar and holidays were not exported or imported
units arent the same in both
finish dates and data dates may be different in both PC
There may-be numerous reasons likely,
a) Time units should be defined properly in all computers e.g. Hours / (Day, Week, Month & Year)
b) Same Calendar should be defined properly on all computers e.g. Working hours and vacations
