Quick book>Home page> Edit>Preference>Accounting> company Preference>Set date

Part of the beauty of QuickBooks is that you don't have to close a month.
If you have reconciled and want to protect the prior month, go to edit>preferences>accounting>set closing date password.

Well, first of all all launch your QuickBooks application, then in Edit menu select preferences. When the new popup window opened click Accounting Tab, and Company preferences Tab. Now select your closing date and then protect it with password.
