It depends upon the objectives of a person and what career path he likes to pursue :  That even though the salary of Project Manager is supposed to be higher than that of a Construction Manager,  I would like to do the job of Project Manager.

In my case, I would like to pursue a career in Project Management with the following objectives :

a) To become a successful Project Manager, and to achieve that, I have set my mind to get ready to face challenges that I will encounter during the course of my work performance.

b) To develop my potentials in Project Management - to take up assignment with greater responsibilities accompanied with equitable authority to make decisions within my level.

c) To satisfy myself with my passion to be a leader not only of few people but a large number of people of all levels.

d) After few years of success as Project Manager, I may be able to establish a supreme reputation out of being a successful leader of people of all levels in the projects-  accompanied with much better and higher benefits.
