While doing maintenance of hydraulic seals it happens there is installed seal which is no longer produced or is out of stock at the moment. Customer needs this to be done asap so you must find the right replacement for defective seal.
find out the working temperature and pressure around where seal is fitted, then find a seal which have it's inner and outer diameter being the same, then match the temperature / pressure rating on the seal.
synthetic seals goes with synthetic H liquids like Orinite or skydrol Natural ones for mineals orvegetal fluides
Utilizing different seals on certain job highly discouraged due to;
- seals have different dimensions ( results improper sealing)
- seals are of made in different materials like NBR, FKM, VITON ( not appropriate for all types of fluids)
- improper sealing causes leakages ( introduces contaminations and other dirt particle causes fluid contamination, results damage to other components internally like rod and barrel scratches)
better installed specific seals to avoid damages.
it is not a rocket science ,Hydraulic seals can be made from a variety of materials such as polyurethane, rubber or PTFE. The type of material is determined by the specific operating conditions or limits due to fluid type,pressure, fluid chemical compatibility or temperature.
before doing any kind of tecchnical work ,must you should have knowledge about it otherwise it can be reason of accident.

first you find cylinder load pressure, then can make seal from industry.if you did'nt get right seal only. like AFI combany makng
You are in a bad situation! Try to find one that resembles the old one and try to do crafts with a specialist. Until you find the right one on stocks
The Fabricated one by the seal code can used temporary till we find the original one.
In some cases the old seal may be used as an aid to reinstalling the new piece. Be careful to put these in very evenly or they may be damaged in the process. Examine each o-ring in each groove and remove and install these one at a time to keep from getting confused as to correct placement. Clean each groove and seat carefully before replacing with the new part. Reverse the process when reassembling the piston to the rod using a thread locking adhesive when replacing the piston rod bolt.Oil all parts well and use a piece of wood on the rod end if needed when tapping the piston back into the cylinder Do not use a thread locking substance on the gland threads when screwing the gland back into the cylindeyou know first its dubleor single action pisto to slect the perfect seal1) double action or single action2) which seal glant seal or piston seal or colete set3)piston seal very easy u can measure by caliper iston dia and cylender bore piston dia -2mm / clender bore+2mm4)glant seal mre difficult but its same but take measurment carefully and add in dia+2mm in bore +1mmr.
