Face to Face interviews are characterised by synchronous communication in time and place. Due to this synchronous communication, as no other interview method FtF interviews can take its advantage of social cues. Social cues, such as voice, intonation, body language etc. of the interviewee can give the interviewer a lot of extra information that can be added to the verbal answer of the interviewee on a question.

Virtual Intervie, also referred to as video interviewing or digital interviewing, enables people to conduct web based video interviews in an automated fashion. Virtual interviewing is becoming the standard method for first round screening providing interviewers with an efficient fair and structured method for conducting interviews. It allows interviewers to interview people who traditionally would not have been able to make an interview at a certain time and place. It helps in making recruiting process more efficient and in discovering better talent.

Bouth are effective, in case of overseas recruitment you have no choice than SKYPE interview. Evan if the candidate is posting a video CV you still need an skype interview!

I didn't experience virtual interviewing but I expect the main difference will be the inability of both parties to read the non-verbal messages. These include apearance, culture, body language, and others. Another issue will be the inability of confirming authenticity of the transaction. I see that it will be most probaly in-effective and promotes subjectivity in a matter which necicitate maximum objectivity.

Both of interviews are effective on the basis situation. Face to face interview is better than virtual interview because it helps to find out the right candidate directly by the employer. VI may be absence to check behavioral aspects.
